Congress passed the Residential Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Act of 1992, also known as Title X, to protect families from exposure to lead from paint, dust, and soil. Section 1018 of this law directed HUD and EPA to require the disclosure of known information on lead-based paint and lead-based paint hazards before the sale or lease of most housing built before 1978.
Before the Veenstra Team helps you purchase a home, you will be asked to sign a disclosure that states that you have been given the following booklet called "How to Protect Your Family from Lead in your Home." This guide was written and is distributed by the EPA. Please read and/or download the guide from this page. If you would like to have a paper copy of the guide, please contact the Veenstra Team 269-350-5514 and we will provide one for you.
